In one of the most shocking accidents, three students from Ahmedabad died in a BMW car accident on the Coastal road, Mumbai.
The car was being driven from Marine Lines to Haji Ali by Shanay Gajjar at around 5.30 am on 20 September 2026, when the accident took place.
The driver was driving the vehicle at a very high speed of more than 120 km, when he allegedly lost control of the car.
There are many flyovers in Mumbai, and after Shanay Gajjar lost control of the car, it hit the wall of the flyover, before falling more than 50 feet below, to a construction site.
Though the safety bags were deployed, the black BMW family car was completely destroyed and three out of the four passengers in the car were killed, while one student suffered severe injuries and was hospitalized.
The students were partying at Marine lines till late at night. Shanay Gajjar was involved in other accidents and disputes earlier in Mumbai, with an FIR filed for brawl at Pub45 in bandra late at night. Gajjar and his friends were studying in different colleges in Mumbai.

Many of the high profile car accidents involve young people who lose control of expensive cars and also die in the process. Hence the car insurance companies are charging a higher premium for young drivers who are often reckless

According to media reports, a 19 year old delivery boy shubam prajapati from uttar pradesh was killed in an accident with a Rs 2.5 crore SUV driven by 28 year old Yuvraj Baheti, the son of a businessman.
The accident took place at night, and shubam who was driving a yulu electric scooter, succumbed to his injuries in the hospital.
While other newspapers have not mentioned the name, only the price of the vehicle baheti drove, hindustan times has specified that the car was a land rover defender.
Yuvraj Baheti was allegedly driving the vehicle at a very high speed, allegedly after drinking alcohol, and was travelling from Khar to Mahalaxmi where his family owns a posh house. He was arrested and later released on bail.
